Let me begin this review with a little story… my little cousin from Belgium was visiting me for only one full day, so we decided to treat ourselves… big time! We even declared the day a spoil yourself day.
We literally started the day eating pound cake and treated ourselves with a shopping session before noon. Then we went to the cinema (no exaggeration, if you go to the movies at 3p.m on a Friday, expect to see 4 people in the room) and after seeing Molly’s Games we got inspired to get even more out of our shopping session.
Anyhow, there is no spoil yourself day that does not end in at least a bit of pampering. And even though we were damn tired after a long day of doing nothing, we agreed that it is high time to do something… extra.
We never agreed to something faster than that! …we tried out the StriVectin Silver Peel-Off Purifier.
We tried to apply a medium layer on our faces… applying too little will make the peel off impossible, applying too much will take forever to dry. For a better and even coverage use a make-up brush.
We kept the mask 25 mins on our faces, I really liked the fact that I felt the mask working on my face, it was cooling and it tickled a bit.
After the 25 mins, we peeled upward… it’s important to begin with the jawline in order to remove as many impurities as possible.
My favourite thing about this peel-off is that the mask is not aggressive at all… some of the peel-off masks out there are so aggressive, hurt so badly and can actually strip off the surface layer of the skin. It was not the case with this mask… we took it off without any pain and our faces felt undoubtedly cleaner and softer.
Know your ingredients:
Keep in mind that ingredients are listed in descending order, starting with the largest quantity in the product and ending with the lowest.
You can click on each ingredient in the list to find out more about it.
Aqua (Water, Eau), Polyvinyl Alcohol, Glycerin, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Myristyl Nicotinate, Collodial Silver, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499).
Although the benefits of the Collodial Silver have not been confirmed by the scientists and there is an entire debate on the ingredient itself, I really liked the product, I think it did gently clean the pores without causing any irritations.
I like that the product has no fragrance to it, but I do not understand why do you need to put colorants such as Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891) or Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499) in a peel-off mask.
To be honest, I am not the biggest fan of peel-off masks but if I were to choose one… this might be my favorite.
Since the product is a bit pricy, do you think it’s worth the money?
