Bring your eyes back to life!

From Christmas parties at work, to family dinners, present hunting, never-ending shopping lists, deadlines, commitments and the New Year’s Eve never-ending party, December can be pretty exhausting.

All the tiredness and the lack of sleep combined will affect you both mentally and physically, putting your health at real risk. I am not going to talk about the risks of not getting enough sleep here, as this page is focusing on skincare, but please be aware of all the negative effects of sleep deprivation and stress. They both can put you six feet under, so do not postpone seeking professional help, should that be the case.

With all that being said, let’s discuss how these factors affect our under eye skin!

The skin under the eyes is significantly thinner and more sensitive than our skin elsewhere on the body, it is also prone to wrinkles. The lack of sleep, drinking or hereditary factors can clearly age and dull our faces. Have you ever had someone ask you: “Are you sick?”, “You look tired, are you all right?” I’m pretty sure those are not your favourite questions, but they show us how much difference that tiny part of our skin makes. Now you understand the metaphor “Eyes are the windows to the soul” better, don’t you?

One look and you can send so many messages, I’m sure you don’t want your eyes to send the message that you’re dull, sick or just not present.

Since we all agree that our eyes can communicate how we feel so easily, the only way to come out of the season fresh-faced is to properly take care of our under eye skin.

Whether you are using homemade recipes, drugstore or high-end products, I think we can all agree that our under eyes skin needs special attention. So please take care of your health first, do your homework before buying any new products and make sure that the ingredients are good for you!
